I know it looks like all I cook is Mexican or Chinese, and you know what, that’s probably true. But it tastes good. And I like it. And I’m not trying to please no one.
So last night I decided to make some Sweet N’ Sour chicken. Because I ordered Chinese on Monday and I didn’t think it was acceptable to order it again.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 1-1.5 pounds of chicken, cubed into little chunks
- Snap peas
- Vegetable oil
- Sweet and sour sauce? I bought this packet but there are jars and other brands or make your own. Do you.
The recipe on this sauce packet just says to cook the chicken, add sauce and consume. That sounded pretty damn boring to me, so I decided to add the veggies.
Firstly, add a tablespoon of oil to the skillet and brown the chicken.
Once browned, add the veggies and stir around for a couple minutes before you add the sauce.
Toss in the sauce, cover and cook for 5 minutes or so. At that point, the chicken should be thoroughly cooked and ready to consume.
To be honest, it was a little bland for my spicy taste, so I added some hot sauce and it was awesome. Of course I had left over white rice from my Chinese on Monday, so I didn’t have to do anything else.
I’ll probably make this again soon but instead of the sweet n sour, I’ll use some teriyaki sauce and red pepper flakes and I think it’ll be pretty delicious.
